Logo Misuse

Help us stop logo misuse

Did you know? Under the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 it states that it is an offence for a company or individual to:

  • Falsely claim membership of trade associations
  • Claim a product has been approved by a public or private body when it has not

The NBF Approved logo helps to protect the consumer or client to be able to identify a member company and the member from unfair competition. The NBF sets high standards that bed manufacturers must meet in order to become members, so we take any complaint that someone is using the NBF Approved logo without permission very seriously.

If you believe that a company is misusing the NBF Approved logo or making false or misleading claims that they and/or their products are approved by the NBF, then we would like to hear from you. The NBF will investigate all claims and where appropriate will refer this matter to our legal counsel and to Trading Standards for enforcement assistance.

The first thing to do is to check our list of Approved members and their brands here to see if the company is an NBF member. Remember that our members may trade under a number of different brands. Although we work hard to keep the list complete and up to date, we cannot guarantee the information supplied by members is 100% current and accurate. If a brand is not listed here, let us know and we will check to see if it is bona fide.

Sometimes we may need to contact you for further information or additional evidence in order to substantiate your claim. Of course, the details you provide will be held in the strictest confidence and will never be divulged to any third party, without your consent.

NBF take any logo misuse extremely seriously and with your help, we can help prevent others from being misled.
